A Buddie has a 2005 Dyna Low, it has the smaller sporty style front end with narrow trees and down tubes.
Looking to do the swap to a newer front end, 49mm tubes and maybe super glide trees. Wondering whos done it and what front end did you use?
Anyone do it?
Any pics or info?
Thanks!

I assume you mean 49 mm trees, they will bolt right up, but why not go to a Wide Glide set? If you get Wide Glide trees it will give you the same rake as a Wide Glide, the 05 LR frames are the same as the WG frames, but in 05 they were 41 mm on the WG instead of 39 mm as on the LR..

I've got an 01 FXD. I swapped in the new 49MM fork set (using superglide trees) bolted right in. I put an album together of the work in progress:
Yep 49mm, sorry typo...
and thanks George as well, will def look at the pics.
8541 I agree, I have a WG and would def do the WG front if I were him, but my friend doesnt want all the rake, just looking for a fatter frontend stance and the bigger tubes...

Anyone else??
A Fat Bob front end will give him the width without the rake, if that is what he is looking for, just another option, plus he could have dual front brakes.
Here is a Fat Bob front end I put on my kid's Nightster. Not too much different than you are contemplating . The lower sliders are from a Super Glide though as the Fat Bob lowers are different. My Street Bob in my sig pic also has been converted to a Fat Bob front end.
Ya but I did not do it for the looks. 30mm Ohlins cartridges with dual twin pin 65mm Brembo calipers on 320 mm MMC (Metal Matrix Ceramic/2.2 lbs/ea) using a mid glide trees. Got plans to R&R the trees using my Billet WideGlide trees and a WideGlide FLT C/F set of wheels anong with a C/F front fender. The fork tubes will be micro Polished and DLC (Diamond Like Coating) applied. I will retain the Brembos & MMC rotors.
