99 Dyna Detachable Windshield Question
Hey everybody longtime lurker, first time posting. I picked up a detachable windshield and docking kit for my Dyna. When windshield is installed the wireform retainers are on the inside not the outside of mounting brackets. Thus, they do not line up with studs and do nothing at all. I have tried to swap retainers to opposite sides, but, nothing seems work. WTF? I can post pics if needed.

I have a quick detach HD windshield, but it's HD, not aftermarket. No docking hardware, it's either on or off with nothing left behind.

I have the older style windshield that leaves the dockings on the fork tubes. You are thinking of the new style with clamps that undo from the fork tubes.

Most of the older windshield parts are dicontinued. This is what Harley could offer me short of a brand new full setup. Windscreen mounts up on this docking it is just the retainer that does not hook up. Used it all day today with no problems and just used a zap strap as retainer. For a free windshield it will have to do until I can find a stock used one. Thanks anyway.
