PerryRoss,

Is it a HD Break Run Break light system? I am looking to install LEDs with B-R-B lights.

“rip-off”
Now you tell me.
So ... you're saying it IS a "rip off" or IS NOT ...?

Lots of guys do that many or more mods to bikes that are not commonly thought of as a "rip off" ....

Yes I know all about the size difference and I bought the Switchback knowing this. I have an Electra Glide Classic parked in my barn that I'm storing for a bud and I see it everyday. I'm a weekender when it comes to touring and most of my riding is going back and forth to work. Don't have a lot of time to go cross country but I'm happy just being able to ride. We'll be adding a detachable back rest, pad and luggage rack for our long weekends this summer. I love all Harleys but the touring bikes are just more than I want. For over 35 years I rode pretty much with just what I could put in my pockets and I like my bikes simple and clean. That's a Switchback.

Not gonna argue with you too much on that one. My '01 FXD has been a great bike. I've put 48,000 miles on it now and I plan on putting a few more on it. I get a big smile on my face when I think I have choice on which bike I want to ride....but the Switchback has the edge now. Ha!!
I rode February 1st too and I plan on going for a short ride tonight and this weekend.

well said. I am astonished at the guff about the Switchback being "too small" to tour...JESUS, multi thousands of miles were put on Duo Glides and this bike is about the same size/weight as a '59 Panhead Duo Glide. Each to his own, but why take a winnabago on a road trip when a station wagon will do. How much **** do you need to bring anyway?

Also getting bored hearing people talking about "moving up" to a heavier bike as if they are that different to ride. They aren't......

Delete the chrome (expensive) on the motor, add the bags and windshield, oh yea, and the running boards... swap one FL front end for a Dyna front end (at the factory) and charge an extra 3 thou. Good idea!
How do you know it costs them nothing? That's just an assumption on your part. Even if it doesn't cost, they have to assign a value to things. They are in the money making business, not the giving things away for free business. And one more thing I'd like to point out, they did do their research because they are selling a lot already. Which means there are research and development costs to factor in too.

Harley builds a beautiful bike. Artwork really, and then gives you the freedom to change it as you like, with factory parts or otherwise. Lots of companies don't do that, they keep things proprietary so you can only buy from them. I think this slamming on Harley for actually charging money for their parts is rediculous. If you don't like it don't buy it. Go get a Victory. Oh wait....they do the same thing.....
