been there, i ended up riding used bikes for nearly 25 years... they might have been honda's, yamaha's and kawasaki's (never liked suzuki's) but at least i was riding.
i suggest you look for a good used 80's or early 90s bike for about a grand and keep on riding until you can afford a harley again.

Take care of the family first, maybe buy the cheapest bike you can find & turn it into a Cafe racer or frankenstein bike. I sold my RK before my last deployment, planning on getting a new one when I got back, plans change, divorce papers at mail call, (happened to more than just me) Anyway, now I have my son living with me & and a '06 Wide Glide, and I'm lovin it.!! Hang in there, this will pass.
