Project clean bars.....
Pm also sell switches. If you have dimpled bars for internal wiring I am going to say yes, welding is necessary. I ran mine down to the local welding shop, it took 3 minutes and cost $20. I did not want to have them wleded either but the set screws were not cutting it and I wanted my throttle to be securely attached to the bars.
The PM switches are nice too. As far as the individual fitment of the various brands switches and everything, I am sure it varies from brand to brand. Hard to knwo how it is going to fit until you try it out. I have an extra PM left side contour 3 button switch housing here in chrome brand new in the package you can have cheap if you decide to go that route. It has been sitting here over a year. I was at PM on Friday and their contour controls setup is really nice. Not inexpensive, but none of this stuff is.

The hawg halters setup is like 330 for the kit, joker machine 300...so like most things the cost difference btw brands is negligible, so I'm just gonna run the one with the cleanest look.
Having to weld that sucker in there pisses me off...means I'm married to my bars now and could be a possible deal breaker for someone looking to buy my bike down the road.
Then again so might the jockey shift, baffle-less exhaust, slammed ride.....
I had this in mind when I bought my bob in July. Saw a guy on Arthur ave yesterday with hiddin cables on a springer. looks really smooth. Now I find this thread, I think it's a sign. lol. Looks like I got some research to do.
Good luck with your operation toastman.

So glad I found this, I definitely want to do a clean bars mod and not lose any functionality with my switches or controls, and I think this is the ticket, although it is expensive it is practically a bolt on once they put them together plug and play and this stuff aint cheap to buy and do yourself.
I would like to do a more diy thing but for this, I dont know man, this looks to good to be true, lol.
I cant wait, I think this is going to be one of my first mods, along with a rear end and new pipes and a board extension mod.
This stuff adds up quick.

Well the dream is dead again.
I knew it was too good to be true.
In my last post when I discovered this system I said it.
A day later I talked to Jeff over at hawghalters via email.
He was great with his correspondence and everything was great, until... he told me those bars on the site are it.
I had asked him if I bought my bars from a particular vender could he work with them, he said as a matter of coincidence that is the very vender who makes these bars for them on the site, so I said great, I dont like any of those but the same guy makes a bar I do like and its dimensions will work for me.
He said they dont work with any other bars, only the ones I the site.
ugh.
I didnt mind paying the 2500$ for the complete set up and installing it myself, I didnt mind the 6 to 8 week time frame for delivery after order, I get it there custom, so no problem, but I cant justify spending the money to buy handlebars that arent going to be comfortable for me or the right pull back.
I cant understand why they wont use other bars available from the same vender if they fit the rider better.
same 1 1/2" same drilled for wires, same in almost every way, these I Want area only different in the rise and pullback.
I want to use a beach bar, they have a drag beach bar with very little pull back, I need like 12 to 14" pull back with a 3" or less rise and 34 to 36" wide.
If I were to buy the ones on their site I wouldn't be able to ride my bike, lol.
I have a busted back, long story, I am lucky I can ride at all.
So unless they change their mind, and let me order the bars I want from the vender, ship them to them and have them put their system on those I am back to the drawing board.
The other company I found cc I think, they arent making any for 6 months or more while they re-configure them.
I love the ones on hawghalters site, they have every single thing I want in hidden controls and functionality, except the bars, DOH!
Oh well, I hope others start offering these mods as kits pre wired plug and play to you and me, I really want to get them, I just keep hitting road blocks.
