Thanks for the pics, I really like that bag. Just bummed that it bolts where the passenger peg goes. I don't ride two-up very often but when I do I would not want to have to pull the bag off and bolt on the peg mounts just to do it.
pthavet,
thanks for the write up and pictures! You bike looks great by the way! I'm diggin the bag, but i'm still bent about the H-D wesite pictures of the bag installed. It shows the bag mounted much lower on the bike (see the gap between the top of the bag and the ignition/electronics cover). Every picture I've seen of an "actual mount", the bag is up above the bottom of the electronics cover?
Regardless ...I like this bag and will probably get one for the SGC. However, I will have to mod it to fit like the H-D picture. I'm thinking I cut a slit in the top of that pocket so the bag will drop down lower ...like in the H-D picture.
My bike is lowered so the swing arm comes up a bit closer, the bag would be sitting lower if compared cover if it would be at standard height.
P
That's what I was thinking to. On a stock height bike it will probably look more like the HD pic. I think it still looks good though and the more I see your pics the more I keep thinking about getting one.
I`ve been looking for bags for a long time, this one is the best I have found so far, for longer trips, or when there is a chance of rain, I do have a larger from BAD&G,
Way too small IMO. I'll just order a BAD&G solo bag. The HD bag looks a lot better, but hell...if I'm going to put a bag on my bike it's got to be functional. Otherwise, what's the point. I need something that will at least hold a sack lunch and a hat.
I hear ya man ...thats why I ride a Street Glide! It will haul a case of beer, a bottle of rum, a couple bags of beef jerky and a sleeping bag! Perfect for weekend getaways!
The swingarm bag is going on Momma's bike (the SGC). It will only be needed for her "purse overflow" like lipstick, hair bands ...that kind of ****!
Does anyone know the sizes of the bolts required? I sold my upper belt guard and the lower belt guard and passenger mount are laying somewhere in a landfill.
Also, is it possible to lower the bag so it is similar to the HD pic? My bike is lowered also.

I'm thinking you could cut down the top mount an inch, and shim the lower mount an inch ...should work out like that.
Can anyone advise on what tools are needed to attach the HD swing arm bag? It looks easy enough and would like to do it myself.Reason I ask is because I kinda have lame a$$ tools, but would be glad to go out and buy what I need instead of paying someone.Thanks.

You need to remove the passenger footpegs if you have them. Don't have my Dyna here at the moment but on my Sporty that requires a 5/16" allen head wrench or socket. then you pull the beltguard screws - can't recall if those are also allen head or not, you'll have to look on your bike.
Tip - toss the nylon web straps that come with the bag and substitute large zip ties. The clamps on the straps take up too much room in the bag and stuff constantly snags on them.
