I'm tired of riding back and forth to work with my laptop in a bag over my shoulder. It won't fit in our slant style saddlebags so I think I am going to make a set that the laptop will fit into. I'm just wondering if there are any of you who had the same problem and would be interested in something like that. If so any input would be appreciated as far as what size computer ect. If we get enough input we would get the cutting dies made and add this style to our line. Let me me know what you think.
Allow me to provide some input.
I work on computers for a living. I'm a small business network consultant...I travel around different clients offices/places of business....doing work. I often ride...if I don't have to dropoff/pickup lots of stuff (like workstations/monitors/servers, etc).
So, anyways...a laptop is one of my primary tools. As you noted..typically won't fit in saddlebags, because of the diag cut on most of them. I use a 14" wide laptop...don't like to carry larger.
Most people prefer larger laptops...and these days it's about wide resolution laptops...15.4" screens, wide aspect ratio. That will be your challenge.
What I do, have a small laptop bag that I bungee cord across my luggage rack.
One options it to have it slide into the bag sideways....so that it's standing up on its side. I'd want soft liner/padding on the bottom.
`Harley does (or did) offer a backpack style sissy bar bag with a laptop compartment but I've yet to see any others. Maybe you can come up with something better.
