Default silly question about clutch

so i hope i am over thinking this just a bit... basically put does wet clutch mean hydraulic? something in me says no, they are different but a lil voice says just ask the forum. i want to buy new levers from hill country ( good price) and it says good for every model except for "except 04 and later Sportster, models with Hydraulic clutch, and 2009 Touring models" so i have an 07 FXDC how would i know if i had a hydraulic, which i dont think i do but dont wanna waste money. thanks guys.

In the first place you would have a hydraulic reservoir for the oil. Would be similar to a brake reservoir except smaller.

Your clutch sits in oil, therefor it is wet. You see that you have a clutch cable up there on the handlebars? It would have a brake type reservoir and an oil line instead if it was hydraulic.

Recommend you Google " How does a hydraaulic clutch work?" so you understand the concept more fully.

Your FXDC came with a cable operated clutch so the levers you are looking at will be fine. When it says models with a hydraulic clutch it is referring to a hydraulic operated clutch. Like was said in the above posts you would have a second master cylinder on the clutch lever side of the bars to operate the clutch vs a cable. The only HD's that come with a hydraulic clutch from the factory are the CVO models.
