Everyone will have ideas of which bikes to buy. Your best bet is to get the bikes you like and also your wife's. Get the lowrider for her and the custom for you or you can get two lowriders or two customs or just two superglides.
Hey everyone. Thanks for all the input, and I'm gonna say damn good advice. The message is loud and clear: "the Bob is great value, and all the Dynas are good, but try before you buy". You are absolutely right. And the idea of mixing it up a little ie. getting one bike for my missus and the other for me is spot on. It really comes down to what fits each individual the best. I'm 6' with long legs, so maybe the Bob's gonna be a little short in the saddle for me.
In terms of Softails, as much as I love the Deluxe, I think I prefer the rubber-mounted engine of the Dyna. I think it gives that lumpy-smooth classic Harley feel.
Since you all gave me a response, I'll keep you posted with decisions, and post pics when we take delivery! And then there's the mods......
while the wife and i both have '06 bobs...theyre far from identical
i have the stage2 big bore...she has the 88"
mine is set up for solo...hers- 2-up
fwd controls for me...mids for her
evil *** black denim for me...pretty vivid black w/ purple accents for her!
just trying to show...that 2 bobs dont have to be the same...either way get what you like[both of you]
and before long...hers will be "hers" and yours will be "yours"
It really comes down to what fits each individual the best. I'm 6' with long legs, so maybe the Bob's gonna be a little short in the saddle for me.

This was my exact dilema.
I wanted the Bob, but I'm also 6ft with long legs, and the Wide Glide was just so right in terms of it's riding position compared with the low seat height of the Bob and Low Rider.
But I don't like raked front forks or Apes' and the look in general of the WG. So, with the higher seat height of the Super Glide Custom compared with the Bob and Low and it's looks in general, swayed me in that direction, with only forward controls needing fitting to begin with.
I love my Superglide. Only thing I don't like is the speedo mounted on the handle bars and no tach.
As for fit....
I'm 5-3 and she fits great! I can see with guys being taller that they may feel a bit cramped, but forward controls would do the trick there. *wish I could have some, but my short legs won't let me. Ok, I can reach them just fine, but it feels like my legs are wrapped around a man for hours and hours and that is not comfy!* lol
It may work to see if you can rent what your interested in and each of you go for a day ride.
