Such a large variation - lows of 30 and highs of 50, that's amazing. I cant belive the tune or the go-faster goodies make that much difference, it must be the riding style. I keep revs between 3000-3500 when cruising and accelerate generally full throttle. I shift around 4000 when cruising, at 5800 when sprinting.
Next time I fill up, I'll go easy for a tank (or half) and let you know whether that matters much.

Promised to see whether riding style has impact on mpg. So I kept it very quiet, shifted at 3000 revs, and not faster than 75 mph. Made 42 miles to the gallon, much better than the 30 mpg I reported before. Around 40% better, actually.

Because the fuel tanks are relatively small, and "Full" is really kind of a relative term; measuring the fuel economy over a single tank will usually produce some fairly wide swings in MPG. This can alternately lead moments of anxiety and euphoria from one tank to the next, neither of which are truly justified.
