Throttle position can seriously affect fuel consumption and riding in too high a gear will ruin efficiency as well.
Yep, thats the whole point of this thread. Though "too high" is a matter of preference and how the bikes been tuned, I think. There seem to be people who take a whole lot of effort tuning the engine to umpteen hp at 6000 revs and then shift at 3000. Seems a bit pointless to me.

Actually that's kind of the spot I am in now. I have a pair of woods t6-6 and a pair of 255s. The 255s have all their torque low, where I do most of my riding. From what I have read the t6-6 are more for mid-range and upper rpms.
I have a street bob and I like the idea of the se255s because of when they turn on. I am pulling my heads next week so I guess inbetter decide quick

I didn't say I had any concerns about fuel mileage Chump. Your comprehension level sucks like a rebel
Just going to and from work and staying in fifth gear going sixty or sixtyfive I get about 42 Mpg. Thats with several stop lights and seldom getting horsey with the throttle. Looking forward when the weather warms up going on a longer trip using sixth gear on the interstate and see what it gets then.
