Default FML and the connectors under the neck

It's been a while since I've changed anything on my bike and I forgot what a PITA taking apart the connectors for the hand controls can be. Without fail, there is always one pin that won't come out the way it should. Even better is my left grip won't come off the bars I sold and I'm shipping out tomorrow. Ok I'm done.

If the guy doesn't want to pay me for the grips he's pretty much getting my bars for free after I have to pay for new grips. Things never go as planned.

I had some luck with my grips last time. Try getting a small screw driver under it and then remove it and put the straw of a wd40 can in there, spray a little. Might have to do that in a few spots around the grip. Work it some and it SHOULD come right off. Good luck.

I'll try that. I did it with a precision screwdriver but it didn't do much. The metal collar at the ends doesn't leave much room.

What kind of grips? I have kuryakyn ISP grips and did the wd40 trick. And it didn't work. Even tried carb carb cleaner. Nothing

Mine are the Avon contours. Just like the PM grips.

Got it done. I ended up cutting the grip right against the collar and then was able to pry it off. It's cut in the seam and I don't think you'll be able to tell once it goes back against the hand controls. Thanks for the advice.

I know it's too late now, but I have always heard of good results putting an air compressor under the grip as well as you can and shooting some air in there to break te seal.
