they arent rusted on -just tight as **** and hard to get to-at least the right side is-i tried an allen on it-one is a little too big and another is a little too small and didnt want to press my luck and strip it out
Jerry try a little heat on the bolt with a heat gun before you wrench on those torx screws. I have found through experience the hard way that this for me is the way to go. Heat it a little and push straight and firm and turn slowly, that has worked for me.
Same issues with same project myself. Socket head T-47 fits on the bolt but could not get a 3/8 wrench on it due to the frame. Found that I could use a 1/4-3/8 adapter (very short) and just get a 1/4 socket wrench on it. I definitely second PB blaster (maybe a little heat first). Total pain in the *** for what shoud be a 5 minute project on that side.
yea i ended up getting a #47 socket today and working on getting them off-and to make things more of a pain-one of them on the left side striped on me-so now i have to wrk even more to get that bastard out !
where did you find that right angle Torx? ive even looked online and cant find one ! That's what I need is a right angle one.
I picked up the right angle torx at a local tool supply. I went out in the parking lot and made sure it was the right size, then broke it loose while I was there. I then went back inside and just bought the torx bit and used a wrench to tighten it. The bolts are tight, there was a post awhile back were a guy used a soldering gun to heat the bolts before he broke them loose. the loctite can be a bitch in tight spots
