If you liked how the fat bob felt/handled, go for it. It's a mean looking bike.

54 yrs old and Ive owned a lot of different bikes. The things I love most about the Harley is the look, the low rpm torque & simplicity of a push rod V Twin. The stock suspension does leave something to be desired but there is an ea$y cure for that. I also only have room for one bike & the Harley was an easy choice. Sounds like you need a refresher on 262 miles of pure bliss through the mountains

Great responses, thank you.

My Fat Boy won't arrive until 3/6 and I was waffling a bit. I test rode a 2011 BMW R-1200 R today. The new twin cam motor pulls with much more authority than the '04 R-1150 R I owned. Brakes were fantastic, it was chilly so I set the heated grips to low. After about ten miles I was bored stiff. I also rode a 2012 Ducati 1100 evo Monster. It was more fun, but it had a very narrow power band and the mirrors were awful. They just did not hold a candle to that supreme road feel of the Dyna. Post demo ride I was discussing the BMW & Monster with my buddy Mike (He owns a Soft Tail Heritage Classic & a Buell 1125) when he laughed and said, "It's kinda like being with a woman who doesn't scream in bed." The Fat Bob is way different from any MC I've ridden in the past. I get it now. I'm glad I've had the extra time to think about the Fat Bob. There will be no buyer's remorse on this beauty.

Race Tech is building me a pair of shocks that are 1.5" longer than stock, and I'm going to also install the cartridge emulators up front. I'm thinking SE Air Filter, V&H Staggered Short Shots in chrome, a re-map and I will be so good to go!

Q. HYPR thinks $18.3 OTD might be too much for the 2012 103 Fat Bob in Big Blue Pearl with ABS. I've shopped it some and it seems like an OK price. Should I go back to the table? I'm getting 1% on the loan which is fantastic. Five years will only add $128.00 to the 5K I'm borrowing with no penalty for early re-payment.

Thanks again
