Put my quick release on the other day... everyone is correct.. very easy.. unless u can get it as part of buyer package, it is not worth paying a dealer.. However, I do have one question for those who have had it on for awhile.... they gave me tape in hardware to protect lid from screwhead when opening and closing lid to avoid scrathes.. I did put it on. Does anyone care to comment on the subject..

yes, you need the tape on the lip or you run the risk of scratching it..
if you are careful you wouldn't need it but lets face it most of us are in a hurry some days and the scratch isn't worth the risk
Hi,
I'm trying to do this job w/o removing the shocks; but it looks you have to remove the top shock bolt in order to remove the chrome cover so that you can remove that spacer piece. You have to remove that piece and discard so that you have room for the chrome plate that came with the kit. Am I correct?
