Ah, thank you sir for allowing me another chance to tell you why to buy EZ brackets. First, please note the picture. They are edge brackets that are less than a year old. They are weak and poorly made, not to mention when they arrived they had missing and incorrect mounting hardware, causing me to make an unneeded trip to the hardware store before I could even install my "direct from the factory" edge brackets. And when I sent them an email to complain, they didn't so much as respond. Do yourself a favor, get the EASY BRACKETS!
I had the EZ Brackets. Were great at the beginning but I think the weight of the bags slowly got the brackets out of alignment and would be a bitch to get the bags to slide into the posts.
Also, if you have both detachable sissybar and bags, the studs extend pretty far and you have a gap between the fender and bag (if not using the sissybar). But thats the price to pay for a detachable system.

IMHO, they all make the bags stick too wide and make theft of the bags too easy.
The real question is how often do you really want to take the bags off?
I found that once I got them on I ended up leaving them on, so I went with a simple method using threaded rod so I could take them off easily for cleaning the bike. Other than that they stay on all the time.
I've got the EZ brackets. Leave bags off most of the time. But when I need the storage it's a 3 second install. And only leave small mounting hardware.

Forget them. Place the bags out to far. I returned them and bought Back off's . Much better. Slightly harder to get off( align the slot) but still very easy to remove bags. Love em. Had them for over 6 months and several long trips with absolutely no problems.
Also good to remove bags for bike cleaning and general maintenance.
