Hi, I have a 2012 Superglide Custom and just completed the first 1000. I have two concerns.
Firstly the brakes are pretty poor and a big effort has to be made to stop quick. Also I have a noise like paper in the spokes when using the front brake. My dealer reckons its the cooling holes in the disc making the pads rattle and its normal !!!
Next, when cornering left or right more noticable between 30-40 mph I get a whine and a vibration felt through the handlbars. The Harley dealer reports its the Michelin Scorcher 31 inch tyres fitted on this model and again I have to live with it. Going straight there is no problem. Has any body heard about these problems and could advise. Many thanks Brian
The brake noise is typical. What some people do is bevel the edge of the pad the leads into the rotor and sometimes the noise goes away. As far as the tires tracking, vibrating and whining I can't answer that, I'm on Dunlops.
