Default Dyna T Sport fork?

Good morning HD friends,

I am new to the HD forum and gave a short intro under the New Member thread so have a look if you wish.

My problem is the following: I bought a Dyna T Sport a few months back and I am trying to find parts to complete that bike. I live in Thailand and it is very difficult or even impossible to find parts for the T Sport, however, same in USA as I understand.

The fairing is missing and I hate to see all those wires hanging around, therefore I try currently to get the fairing from the HD Bangkok dealer but they told me that some parts are obsolete, still they are contacting some other dealers in USA...

However, the dealer I bought the bike from told me that the fork is not a T Sport fork but I do not trust this guy much, not very professional and hardly ever tells the truth.

I could not find any pics in the internet showing a T Sport without fairing and wonder if anyone out there can help me to clarify, I do not want to spend huge money (here in Thailand it will cost me a lot more due to 30% import tax and shipping cost) for a fairing (in case I find all the parts) and suddenly realize that the fork is not the right one.

Appreciate your help.
Jurgen

What year is the bike? Take a p[ic of the fork caps. And then take a pic of the rear of the lowers. That will make this easy. The fork caps on 2000 and up models have two adjustments on them. The rear lowers on the 2000 and up models have an adjustment screw on the bottom rear of the fork legs.

Guess that picture I took does not help although this hole is strange...didn't see such thing n any Dyna. I will make some additional pics but I think there are no adjustments on the front fork caps. This is the suspension adjustment, right? The dealer did not know anything abount adjustable front suspension on the T-Sport.... well it is Thailand

I can tell you for sure that your bike no longer has T sport triple trees, upper looks like it could be stock Dyna, the bottom is definitely different. The legs still look to be from a T sport. You can just get a Arlen Ness, or a Harley quarter fairing. It will fit right on and cover those wires. Here is a pic without.

Default Dyna T Sport5 fork?

Thanks Lefty79, I agree after looking closer at fork and trees as to what HOGPRO mentioned. Not sure about the legs, are they really still T Sport? And my front light is fixed at the upper tree and, as I heard from another member, the T Sport is supposed to have the light lower than the "standard" Dyna, yours definetely sits lower and seem to be attached to the LOWER tree (mine is hooked up with the upper one). Is that hole on my bike (in the lower tree) supposed to hold the light??? If so it's easy to move of course.

What I miss on my bilke is the adjustable suspension on the front legs ....
I made some more pics as asked for by HOGPRO, maybe that brings some light into the mystery

Appreciate your advice to get a Arlen Ness/Harley fairing but I think I need to be clear about what I have here to deal with before I can decide on the fairing and, by the way, a complete kit for this Harley fairing seem to be out of stock with Harleys as I heard from the Bangkok Harley dealer

I read HOGPRO's comment again and saw that hint regarding a "screw" on the front leg which is supposed to be for adjusting the front suspension.

Just went down to make a shot of something which could be that "screw", positioned towards the bottom of the leg. It might be the adjustment screw because I can turn it, please have a look at the pic and let me know if this is the screw for suspension adjustmewnt.

As said earlier, here in Thailand, the dealer had no clue about such thing ... what a world and this guy says he will become official HD dealer

The fork lowers do have the compression dampening adjustment and are fxdx/fxdxt. No picture show the caps at the top of the fork though. Also, the triple trees for the FXDXT are special. They have the mounting holes for screws to attach the fairing.

This page shows a break down...

Interesting! I'd say your missing the triple tree's from the FXDXT. The top of your forks should have adjusters were you would normally have the fork bolts/covers. Hmmm!Still a cool bike!

Without the proper tree's you can't mount the FXDXT Fairing.

First of all the photos you're posting are too small - seems more likely that you simply don't have a T sport model in the first place rather than it had the front end swapped out. Did you check the vin code?
