Well, I have been looking around on the internet for while on what could be causeing a vibration that I am having in my bike. The engine vibrates around 60 MPH in 5th gear or 70 MPH in 6th gear. It does it in other gears also, just dont know what MPH. I also checked it just sitting there in neutral, it vibrates pretty good when you give it a little bit of throttle. I have been reading about the motor mounts and I have not yet checked them out, but I just read about the compensator sprocket loosening up. I also heard about a SE comp kit, but some people are saying that they come stock on the 2011s. If anyone knows what it could be that would be great.
Had same issue, and so has many others. First i shimmed the motor front motor mount with washers. Didnt fix 100%. So i looked at my motor mount in more detail and it had dropped.(see pics) dealer shaved it for clearance and it was like a new bike. Now its a dyna and will and should shake more than others. But this made a huge difference.
Also see pic of me shimming with washers. Removed them before the dealer clearance the motor mount. Never put them back in.
When you say shaved, does that mean they did something to the rubber, or did the grind a part of the metal? You also are not running with the washers anymore?
Now looking at the pictures I can see were the shaved the rubber off....was looking at the pic with a cell phone before. I will have to give that a try.
Definately look at the motor mount. If you still have stock exhasut I can tell you that my WG vibed alot and yesterday I installed V&H big shots and now I can actually see in my mirrors. Dont know what it changed but it vibrates ALOT less.
I mentioned excessive vibration at my 5000 mile service, and they told me that vibration is normal...but I have rode it for 5000 miles, and I know how it feels, and i told them its vibrating more than normal...so, i may be hitting the dealer back up for that.
off to look at my mount...
its just frustrating hearing new sounds, and the bike feeling different. they had to tighten up the main bolt that holds the triple trees on to the frame, $80, but it stopped this clicking sound i was hearing every time i hit a minor bump.
IF my mount looks like your before pic, i may be taking a knife to that mount.

Good price...even with coffee/zig pause hardly takes more than 15 mins.
I looked at the mount....its sagging bad...ill have to shave it. Wonder if it did this cuz i got gas on it....did a bunch of wiring and took the tank off and got gas on it.....
