No comments? I still want the original bags for the bike but it seems that these might do until I get them.
They don't look too bad from the side, but they seem to sit up way too high. Is there any way to mount the brackets higher on the bags so the bags sit lower?
The problem with the height is that the holes in the brackets are where they are and in order to get the bag to attach to the bracket in all 4 places and to make them secure to the bracket, that was pretty much the only way. I think that barebacks may be a better option than the easy brackets for this application. the PITA about this whole thing was trying to get the bags even on each bracket. In theory it sounds simple but in reality not so much. Anyway, I talked to a friend who was supposedly selling his FXDXT bags and he tells me they are not for sale yet another friend of mine called me the other day and told me he was selling them. If and when he gets the Dyna Defender bags a buddy of his has he will elt the FXDXT bags go. I gotta head to their shop http://www.wargasser.com/ and start hanging out as they have all the good stuff there and leads on everything Dyna. They just came out with a really cool points cover that I want too. And, they are right down the street from HogPro so I just might drop in on the way home today.
LOL. What I want is the sound of the ThunderHeader with the quality of the fatcat. Apparently that is not available right now. Oh well, one or the other.
If I were to make the back lower the top hole in the brackets would not be attached and be sticking out above the bag. I thought the same thing b ut what can ya do. I just saw what the Conley's bags look like on their new site that is under construction. They look killer although I don;t like the logo on them. You can see them here. http://conelysaccessoriesusa.com/
