There was no progress made on the project over the weekend as I am waiting on my TH bracket to be welded so I can put the pipe back on. I picked up a couple of black spacers for my left saddlebag as one of the supports put a nice scrape in the belt guard.
I did get my T bag out to the bike to see if it would work on the drivers backrest on the C&C seat and it isn't working so well so it seems I will have to get a quick detach sissy bar to put my bag on for my trips.
I was thinking while the pipe is off I should maybe hit it with some VHT but I avhe a few questions. Do I need to scuff up the hi temp black coating that is already on the pipe? Do I need to prime it? And obviously I do not have an over large enough to bake this thing in so I will heat cycle it as it says but I am not going to leave the bike idling for 30 minutes, I will heat cycle it by riding it.
Thoughts from anyone that has already done this? Other options are to send this pipe to Joe (Powder Pro) for hi temp coating.
Scored the QD side plates on ebay for a real bargain in black. I only have a chrome sissy bar and rack but it will work fine for the trip. When the stuff gets here I will add on my qd hardware and get the bar on it for a test run. The bike will be loaded down. I think I am going to have to crank up the shocks in the rear.
Whenever I get a chance i will put my fork springs in but I avhe not had a chance to do so yet. Race tech .090 We'll see if there is time prior to the trip. I sure hope so and obviously heavy oil too. I thought I got the wrong ones but after talking to Race Tech they are the right springs. I have to cut some spacers out of this aluminum tubing that comes with the springs. I guess figuring out the length will be the most difficult part of this.
i might have missed this but do you have any full bike shots with the ogio bags on? i like how they looked in the smaller picture, but would like to see it from a distance.
[quote=Hogpro;9943333]I got the proper KG but they are too short. I'll figure this out over the weekend. Called Race Tech 3 times yesterday and was unable to actually get anyone on the phone.
Still interested in your findings on the Race Tech springs???
KG? Oil Height and Weight? and Sag achieved with chosen combo?
I am yet to get them installed but called Race Tech and verified that the springs I got are the right ones. I am figuring I will use SE heavy oil, not sure on the level yet, I guess stock level. I'll report back with pics and info once I get a chance to actually do this.
I am going to be getting some Lyndall rotors for my front end with the Brembo calipers. They are super light, black and fully floating. Not sure what style I am going to get yet but some of them can be seen here. http://www.lyndallracingbrakes.com/products.htm
The front rotors on my bike now are warped. They are the Harley floaters.
