The Victory would look good if you dont powder coat your wheels. I'm still interested in the rear rotors if you go with the Lyndall's. Your bikes looking tight. I want to do my defender on the cheap.

Default coil/horn relocate kit

Which Kit did you get? I love it but looking at black wires, did it come with everything you needed?

I am thinking a C&C fastback black vinyl with a drivers backrest.

I asked for all black ones and Kevin siad they will be out in a few weeks.

Another question for people who know as I know someone out there knows. Is there a quick detach sissy bar available for 2000-2005 Dynas? If so can some please post a link. Also I would much prefer a black one but it could always be powder coated.

The tins are at the painters now as well. I was not planning on doing all this at once, but once the tank was off that was it. Might as well.

I got the kit that fits my bike. It came with all the wires and everything, however I just spliced in the 3 wires for the coil as opposed to using the connectors that were supplied. I soldered and shrink wrapped them. The horn kit was plug and play too with all the wiring. Apparently my stealth bear traps got stuck in Texas in the mail so a new set is getting shipped today as well.

This looks like the kit I got but I honestly don't remember. I called Kevin and ordered that way so he just picked the right one, charged me and sent out what I needed. You will need the different plug wires to cut to length as well. You can also email them at support@dkcustomproducts.com Kevin is on vacation but Dawn can help you out with everything you need.

I also just got my TH bracket welded. Here is what it looks like. I'll get it put back on tomorrow and be mobile on the Dyna again then.

I put the TH with the rewelded bracket back on a realized that there was a bolt that was missing from the bottom of the tranny. Hmmm. Maybe that was part of my problem. Ya think? Oh how I missed my Dyna. Next up was to throw my works fork springs in with the heavy oil I got.

The bike was stripped of the calipers, fairing and wheel to ease in the install as I was going by the manual. The fork cap was pulled and it was obvious that I was not going to be able to get the springs changed without some sort of special tool or taking the lowers off which is not happening until they go to the powder coater. So, back together everything went. Does anyone avhe a special tool to swap the springs? My dealer siad the part number was non existant that is in the manual. I'm gonna have to make a few calls to see what I can find around here.

Next up was to pull off the bags so I could put on the quick detach hardware for the sissy bar so I can take my travel bag on my trip as my qd sideplates came in. After putting my sissy bar (extra tall which I hate but it came with the bike, chrome too ) together I added the qd docking pints to the strut bolts and we were good there. ano pics as I hate the sissy bar. Gonna have to find a black one soon.

As far as the qd hardware, the dealer was out of teh Dyna kit so I just bought the docking points for the softail and they worked fine.

On to the saddlebags which had to come off for the install of the qd hardware. I found that the bottom piece of my bag standoffs had bent and were most definitely not strong enough on the exhaust side of the bike and I already the the other side had hit the belt guard. I decided to scrap the Ogio's and they are now a decorative piece in my living room. I'll hold out for the real thing when they are available.

Sorry, the only pic I took was of the innards of the fork springs.

Hogpro, I have to meet up with George at Georges Garage today at noon. I'll see if he has the fork compressor or something you can rig up. Is there anything you need while I'm there?

I got my stealth bear trap highway pegs

from DK Customs in the mail yesterday and put them on for highway pegs. I gave them a try out on the way to work this morning. They work great. I really like having them as opposed to the stock rubber pegs as my feet stick to them extremely well. There are still a few adjustments I need to make and to set them so they are not fully rotating as they come. I am sure I will find a chance to do this today. I am now comfortable with my feet on the highway pegs although one of my pant legs did come up over my boot on the freeway. It is always fun dealing with wardrobe malfunctions at 80 mph. I'll get some pics when the phone stop ringing if they ever do.

I snapped a few pics of the stealth bear traps from DK customs this morning as I got the highway pegs mounted too. I am loving them and they look great. I finally figured out how to bungee my work bag to the rear seat and drivers backrest as well today. No more bag over the shoulder for me.

I finally put the loft passenger peg back on and I swear the bike rides smoother than without it due to the way that it mounts. Since I am mainly talking to myself here I think there is an echo? I also figured a way to bungee my work bag to my back seat and passenger backrest which is really nice considering I have been carrying it on my back for a very long time.

I lost my seat screw somewhere in the last few dyas also and discovered it when I got to work today. I put a new one on, hopefully it will stay put now.

I have been messing with the settings on the rear shocks for the ;ast few dyas. I avhe it 2 clicks from as firm as it will go on the rebound setting and that seems to be about the best I can find for me. I always ride solo and weigh about 185. I am not sure where the forks are set but they are next for the adjustment settings.

Your not just talking to yourself, I've been reading every word. You are far ahead of me, I haven't even had time to read in the service manual HOW to adjust the shocks & forks. It is fun reading from someone who has had the same experiences. My fuel guage seal was leaking just like yours, and I lost the rear screw on my Sporty the week before I traded it in on the FXDXT. Keep up the good work.
