Reading each posting. Keep going please. I'm really wanting to find a new caliper up front....brembo or xr1200.....it's just the money isn't there right now. I'm paying attention though. Thanks for putting in the effort each day
Well that is good to hear. I thought everyone fell off the wagon around these parts. You can pick up a Brembo front caliper pretty inexpensive if you look for one. I got both for $200 on CL from a guy in Colorado.
LeatherPros, once you get going on the bags let me know. I had to pull my others off as they were not working well with the way I mounted them and I didn't like the look of them very well after comparing them to the originals. I'm taking the bike on a trip next week so we will so how it does for touring. I think it will be great as it has the fairing but it still a very manageable bike on all kinds of roads. I'll be seeking out the windiest roads I can find. If anyone has been to the Yosemite area in CA let me know what roads you like as I will be there for 3 days and only have one ride through Yosemite planned on Tioga pass so far. I have two more days to ride while there.
Sorry, only been to Yosemite once. However, I wanted a Tsport but could not find one affordable in good ape so I'm trying to slowly convert my '06 FXD. I am running he HD qtr fairing and am looking for bags. Hopefully hoggpro can make it work. In the mean time, thx for the brake info I'll keep up with eBay. I put progressive shocks on the back but need something more up front. Maybe springs and SE oil? What do you think?
I used the XR's front brake capilers on mine....thinking I paid $165 for each....which included the pads....with the mag wheels they are close to the spoikes, but they work awesome....
I think I might have found a set of FXDXT bags at a reasonable price but I have to go check them out in person to ensure they are the right bags. I'll try to roll out Sunday and see if they are right.
Thanks. The bags I have found are actually the FXR canvas and leather bags which I have never seen before. They have all the brackets and stuff for mounting but i am not sure if mounting is the same. Does anyone know? http://www.google.com/imgres?start=1...50&tx=59&ty=62
