I took the first ride at speed and over 4 miles on this bike since the build thus far. The Andrew's cams really give it a bit more grunt. I was told they wouldn't do much but I certainly notice it. I will switch them out when I do the big bore and heads but that is a ways off right now.

The Brembo calipers are off the hook. I have to be careful not to grab too much front now as I feel like I have sport bike stopping power. My front rotors are a little warped as evidenced by the feel when stopping so I will replace them with 11.8" rotors when I get some different rims as 11.8" is the proper size of rotor for these calipers anyway. I will first try and tweak these rotors back into Harley spec which is .008 when I get a chance. I am yet to touch my rear brake on this bike. That makes me laugh.

The La Choppers High Club Bars which are 13" in height are perfect for me. I was concerned that there might be a bit too much pullback but after riding in to work today I have changed my mind. The price is right on these bars too and I like the way the internal wiring comes out at the very bottom on the inside so that it is barely noticeable.
http://www.lachoppers.com/catalog/di...479/index.html When I added these I also added some polyurethane riser bushings and PM grips which have added to the comfort. There is no noticeable vibration in the grips or the bars while cruising or at any speed. There was no need to extend the wiring for the switch housings either although I did need longer clutch, throttle, idle and brake lines. The steel braided cables must be a part of the massive stopping power as well as they do not flex like the stock rubber lines.

The 14" Cee Bailey's windshield that I got is opaque and I have decided opaque is not the way to go. I should have just gotten a dark tin, but what is done is done. I am still getting buffeting over 80 MPH on the highway so I wil have to try a different pair of shades, a full face helmet, etc. until I find the best combination. My hopes were that the buffeting would cease to be an issue but I'll figure it out eventually.

The black Thunderheader has a killer sound and I am really digging it too. The power is definitely noticeable but I still have a decel popping at certain RPM's. I think I need to replace my intake gaskets which I should have done while the tank and carb were off but didn't . I am still thinking a Mikuni 42 will really smooth out the power band and help the bike run better so when the time comes I'll do that too.

I am still undecided on what wheels to put on the bike. Maybe some suggestions from your guys would help me. The only requirement is that they are mainly black. Check out all the wheel on our site and let me know what you think would look good so I can get them on order if I need to as they sometimes take a while to come in. I am thinking that I will stick with stock sizes as I really like the way the bike handles with the 19x2.15 and the 16x3.

And p51bombay, I have the adjustable windshield gear still. My tachometer hits the shield when it is all the way down so I need to adjust the gauges a little bit. I'll see if I can get some pics today although the bike is filthy.

I think another mod will be an ignition relocation. Since I have moved my gauges up on the bars there is a hole in the fairing that was used for the button on the odometer and it seems like it would be a good place to relocated the ignition. I want to find a way so that none of the wires are visible. I'll have to check it out when I have some time after work. Pics coming once I wash the bike up tonight as it is unfit for pics at this time although Dyna's really are not meant to be clean.

After looking at the bike and the spot I wanted to mount the ignition I am not sure I am going to put it there. I am thinking of relocating the choke and putting the ignition where the choke is although I am not sure that will work either due to the amount of clearance between the coil and where the ignition would go. I'll have to mock it up and see what happens.

The choke **** broke as it was split when I bought the bike so I need a new one which is the reason I might do this relocation. I think this bracket will work.

I got some better pics yesterday of the bike too although you still cannot see what the paint really looks like.

I'll get some of the other side today if there is time. The passenger pegs and belt guards are coming off too.

Bike looks dope and will be a head turner for sure. FWIW, Throw some contrast cut wheels on that bad boy and change your air cleaner cover and it will really stand out. Thanks for not letting build take 6 months, Nice to come on here and see progress every few days. Cheers.

I am too impatient to let it take that long to finish, however finances are starting to catch up with me so it may be a few weeks until I get anything else done.

Mr Hogpro, sir, I hate to **** in your cornflakes, but after looking at the last pic you posted, I think the chin spoiler you took off really needs to go back on.

And for anyone that hasnt seen this in person, the pics dont do the paint justice. When the sun hits it, it looks like the bike got smacked with a golden baseball bat. "Pop" doesnt come close to describing the impact of the paint job.

Too bad I didn't get the chin spoiler painted with everything else. I might have to send it over to the painters. Thanks for your opinion.

I'm going to try some EBC organic pads in the Brembos when they come in. We are all of of the Lyndalls for probably another 3 weeks so I will report back on the EBC's and how they work.

The Thunderheader seems to get really hot, even at 6am. When I rolled in to work it was radiating heat on my leg. I am going to have to get the heat shields for them or something. I was thinking about the titanium DEI wrap like 07Bobber has maybe too, but I'm not so sure about the wrap. I know it will keep the heat way down, but I want my pipe to have some longevity.

When I rode home yesterday in 85* temps that thing was super hot. Going to have to change the jetting in teh carb as well as I am sure that will c ool it sdown a bit. Right now it has a 180 main and a 45 pilot which I thought was perfect but I am getting low RPM deceleration popping too. First I'll adjust the afr screw and if that does not work the jetting will be swapped. For anyone else with a bike in this year range and a carb, what jetting are you running, and how many turns out do you have on your afr screw? I think mine is at 2 or 2.5 right now which should be optimum but it most definitely is not. The only other thought I have is that the intake manifold gaskets could be shot which is very possible as the gas mileage is far from great with the current setup and i would think it is running way rich but the plugs say different.

Once again hindsight is 20/20 as I should have changed the intake manifold gaskets while I had the tank off. I even have the gaskets already.

On my '97 WG, I relocated the ignition from the dash to the horn location on the L side and had a bracket made for it. Much nicer and cleaner looking IMO. I am not able to see your pics here at work as they are blocked.

The choke is now connected to an adaptor (http://www.cv-performance.com/cvp-choke-bracket/ ) to my CV carb, which is on the R side. I need to get a chrome choke **** to match the bracket and top of the carb now. It cleans it up, but will have to get used to choke on the R side. This also cleans it up and my bracket and top motor mount are not compatible on the L side...so had to use the bracket on the carb. lol
