The calipers are 4 piston as are the stock calipers oh my bike but have you ever ridden a newer bagger with these brakes? They have far superior stopping power the that of the stock 4 piston brakes for it. Everything I read said to get the master cylinder from a newer bagger which also takes a different brake lever so I picked those up and the master cylinder just arrived. I'll figure out the fittings once the lower brake lines arrive which are coming from NC. The rotors for these calipers are 11.8" stock and the stock rotors on the older Dyna's are 11.5" but I am to going to replace the rotors yet but will see how these perform with the stock 11.5" rotors.

Anyway, pulling the cam plate tonight and getting the new one all pressed together so that come the weekend there will be that much less work to do.

As far as the coil relocation, it is just a vanity thing. I figured why not have at it.
I had Brembos on my 06 for a while. The with a 11.8" rotor, the pads end up overhanging the top of the rotor. I believe that they are designed for use with a 320mm rotor.

Here's a post with more info from FastHarley: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/9474661-post17.html

The 11.8" rotor is 300mm. The angle of the mounting points on the dyna forks is a bit different than on the baggers and that is why the overhang occurs. I was wondering if I can get a 13" rotor on there with this setup. We will see what happens. Icecaps, how did the bike stop with the Brembo's? My master cylinder and lower brake liens arrived yesterday as well so it looks like I'll be getting this all on very soon.

The stealth bear traps from DK Customs are all black, perfect for my Dyna. This bike is getting blacked out as much as possible.

FXDXTSport, if you want to sell the bags PM me. My tins are all done being painted with the exception of the tank as the small amount of gas in it had to be drained and dry out completely before bead blasting prior to priming. I'm going to check out the fairing, and fenders today after work. I'll snap a few pics.

Next up on the list is going to be the front suspension and after talking to Brian at Ricor he informed me the cartridge style forks on the fxdxt will not work with the intiminators. I gotta call race tech and see if I can get their springs and the gold valves to work in these forks but I could swear that I read about someone putting intiminators in the fxdxt forks. Anyone?

Coming along nicely......I am really liking these Brembo Calipers. I dont believe that you will require any shimming of those calipers.

I like that coil relocation kit and always have, but I never liked the choke **** there. I remember seeing a choke **** kit that installs directly on the carb, with a new cable, and bracket that bolts on one of the carb top bolts. It really puts the choke **** in a nice spot. This kit was for the stock CV carb

I am gonna look some more for that setup, and if any of you HDFers know what I am talkin about please drop me a link.

Also, Can one of you guys here point me in the direction of the information regarding using the matching V Rod Rear Brembo Caliper on a standard Dyna? I know somebody did it a while back but I didnt save the link.

Hogpro, If you havent figured it out yet, I am using your build as a parts gathering list for a FXDX build thats been sittin in my garage waiting for me patiently.

I appreciate the info on the wheels that you sent me, and am kinda torn as I do really like the stock mags. I have yet to decide on the wheels, regardless I appreciate your time.

My choke **** is cracked as well so if u find the info on the other one you are talking about let me know. I'll see what I can find too. The reason I post these threads is so that others can benefit from the stuff I learn as I go along. That is the whole point of the forums, is it not?

I think this might be what you are thinking of for the choke?

Here is a bracket to mount the cable on as well.

Joe, you are not missing much yet. I am going to the painters to see my fenders and fairing which are finished. Just waiting on the tank and I need to get the decals to him so he can clear over them. I'll snap some pics.

Thats the bracket. I thought there was a kit that had all of the parts needed though. Short cable, bracket, and maybe a new ****.

No, The Cartridge Showas do NOT accept or need the intiminators to work properly. All you will need is a proper set of springs for your weight and a quality suspension fluid.

If you really feel the urge to spend unnecessary $$ you can get the Gold Valves from Racetech although I think its a waste of dough.
