single throttle cable
i did a search for this but didnt findwhat i was looking for. sohow many of you are running a single throttle cable? has anyone ever had a throttle stick due to only one cable?
Some folks use a single throttle cable, but I would not recommend it. If the return spring at the carb ever breaks of comes undone, you'll be in deep doo doo.
That's like the suicide throttle on the old Harleys. For cruising on the highway, it may have been a plus, but otherwise, I prefer the 2 cable setup. I had a single cable on my old 1964 XLCH, scarry at times. Stay with the 2 cable.
You need it about as much as a clutch or kickstand interlock. The MoCo puts them onfor people who wouldn't have the quick acting mindset to hit the kill switch or pull in the clutch in the event the throttle stuck open with due to a return spring breaking on a single cable set up.
Had a single cable on the ironhead, cable constantly got stuck and one day it broke on a big roadtrip. rode 150 miles working the throttle with my hand on the carb. Now it has a dual cable
