If I had spokes I would be buying a set, when I saw the thread title I was prepared to hate them but they really do look good....and even at 45 bucks its waaaay cheaper than fat spokes!
Got mine on front and rear now, love them changes the look a lot and even tho 45 bucks for the product is expensive its still a cheap mod that looks great! I would not hesitate to do it again! I did both mine with the rims on the bike, front was real easy rear was a bit of a pain but got it done.
Just installed mine as well. Killer look! I'll post some pics up later. Front was easy, rear sucked. I had to step away from it for the night and took a good look at it the next day and finished it up with a new strategy that worked better. Great investment!
i'm ordering some friday, what was your new strategy...?
Well, for the rear, I found installing the outer spoke first (sliding it down) then wedging the inner wrap against it to slide it down the inner spoke worked best. The guide says do it the other way around. I would do one cross at a time then roll the bike back a bit and keep going. I also pre cut all of mine, which was SO handy, laying the factory edge against the spoke nipple. It gave it a way cleaner look than trimming the top part off for the nipple end. (If that makes sense) I'll post some pictures later that will hopefully give a better visual.
Some pics how it turned out. I also installed some red wheel bands I had been eyeing. Way easy install.
I few of my front spokes have the cut on the nipple side, I was still getting a good technique down. If you look around you'll see the ones that have the factory edge against the spoke, they look much cleaner. Id flip em but, I noticed once they are on, if you pull em off to flip it, they dont lay as neat a second time.
