As everyone has pretty much stated, the WG is the longest model stock. Iam 6'1", inseam...34I think??? I personally like being streched out while rideing, and the stock set up of the foot pegs is great for me. Still, others like to have their feet beneath them in the midmount. You could always set a bike up with extended highway pegs....... In the end, you need to go to a show room or find a buddy's bike and sit on it. And if one bike is a little short, but you like the style better, there are many mods you can do to "fit" the bike.Go with the bike that gives you that warm fuzzy feeling, thenthen mod it.
Roger! and BTW appreciate the pic, Ole Geezer, that puts it more into perspective for me. Not that Im contemplating buying one, but the japanese seem to be putting out some beefy looking bikes, I want the same from HD. Hopefully I'll find it. I know I'll be full of warm fuzzies once i step into that dealer. Thanks guys.
Mate, let me tell you from someone who has recently been through the options you are weighing up.
You can have any bike in the dyna range, the legroom is identical when forwards are fitted the only difference with the wideglide is the forwards are there arleady, but I recommend you buy Kurykyn (or other brand)extenders as well. Kury's extend by 3" and with my height of 6'6" & 37" inseam do the job.
The softails are the same except as already mentioned the models with floorboards, although they can be extended as well.
I have an 06 superglide custom with HD forwards and Kuryakyn extensions, although now you can just get the kuryakyn extended forwards as a single unit, a simpler option if you go with a superglide or a bob which come with mid mount controls.
I also got the tallboy seat and I use it for long rides or for when I carry a pillion (the passenger pad is a nice comfy one). It's really quick to get on or off my bike. It's a great option for really tall people but I hate the look of it, so I normally just ride with the stock badlander that comes with my model.
When it comes down to it, I think you can have any bike in the Dyna or Softail range with some minor mods you get the legroom you want, so it just comes down to which bike is better, and we all know that's gotta be a a dyna right [8D]
