This all happened kind of fast. Wasn't really planning on it, but I've been keeping my eyes open to do this on the cheap and things just kind of came together. I mean I'm doing this cheaper than dammit.
Anyway, I scored a brand new set of the screamin eagle forged high compression pistons off of ebay, cheaper than dammit. My local machinist will bore my jugs to match them for 35 bucks each. He's done a lot of work for me over the last 15 years, and I trust him completely. I am going to use my stock heads for the 9.6:1 compression ratio to maintain easy starting and driveability, although I will polish the ports while I have them off.
All I have left to buy is a gasket kit, and a set of cams.
So, my question is, which cam?? Somebody tell me what I want for the best driveability, and smooth power build. I don't want to build a high rev horespower monster, I want to build torque fast and scream off the line.
I'm not neccesarily trying to stick with harley parts either. I'll consider any quality brand performance cam.
I have Andrews TW-37G's with the S&S Cam Gear Drive.

The 37G's are designed for a 95 C.I. build and a slight compression increase. I am amazed at the currentmotor's performance with the 37's and basically bone stock otherwise. Look at the torque curve on the chart, I cannot complain about the cams at all and look forward to the 98 inch upgrade I will do soon.
Get American Rider magazine from two months ago--they have an article on a new cam by Andrews made for the 06-07 Dynas--TW37H--does not require gear drive and you can use the same stock pushrods. Cams are set up to dramatically increase torque from 2200-4000rpm. This months issue with the Dyna on the cover has an article on increasing torque on 88's.
Check out the spec's for the Andrew's 37G's or 37H's, and the 211's.Then look at my dyno chart again. 80 to 88.9ft/lb's of torque form 3,000 to 5,000 RPM.
