Not if you have a 2012, the new connectors are small enough to fit through 1" bars without disassembly.

Really? that is great news! I am going to be getting some Bury 14" narrows soon, and that will surely save some time on the job. I know I have to get new clutch, brake, throttle cables - will I have to extend the wiring also? hopefully not if I don't have to take the connectors apart!
