Problem with Slip Ons
Thank you to everyone's reply.
I got the SE IIs off. Though I will say, I was a bit presumptuous. I looked inside the SEs and couldn't see through them. Obviously, the baffle is quite large. So I wrongfully assumed that the Rineharts I picked up had no baffles, since I could see strait through them. Therefore, I put torque cones on and right before I went to ask my neighbor for help he looked in the Rineharts and asked me if I was going to pull the baffles....I said what the....because in the right light, I could see them inside now; the baffles were clearly still in. So I decided to just put it on with the cones to see what the ride would be like.
The noise was great...much louder!!! Problem was, I was losing too much power on takeoff. I felt like I was slightly slipping in mud when taking off.
So, took everything off again. removed the cones, put the pipes back on, re-attached the new rineharts, still with baffles and it still sounded great and I got my horsepower back; daresay I got a little extra too.
Oh and a little bit of WD40 as previously suggested...worked great.
Love the new slipons, very worth the time and effort!
