Default Well, here goes nothing

My wife is gonna kill me. The whole house smells like gasoline. I'm building it in the "spare" bedroom, that has been torn apart for remodeling for, oh, lessee, maybe six years now. [:@][:@]

Damn I'm in trouble when she gets home tommorrow.

I ended up going with the 211 cams, so my setup will be the following.

SE forged high compression pistons. (95 inch) Their website says 9.6:1 with stock heads.
Ported and polished heads
SE 211 cams
K&N full flow (oval) filter
SE II slip ons with big city thunder baffles.

Sure hope to get numbers in the high nintees for my efforts.

All that having been said, if anybody has a similar setup and could send me their PCIII map, it would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to just put a "prefab" map in it for say 500 miles to get it broken in before I spend the money on the dyno.

Im a little nevous since ive never done a four stroke before but i have had problems with shops doing rebuilds. So as they say if you want it done right then do it your self.

Not my first build. I built a CB750 and a 78 FLH years ago, as well as several hotrod Fords.

Built the FLH in my apartment kitchen. Nearly got my a$$ evicted. The $hit really hit the fan when my roomates g/f couldn't use the shower due to the presence of a transmission in the tub.[sm=badidea.gif]

And you're right mud, with the better half, it's better to dicker. She's been wanting a new porch on the west side. I won't have all the parts for the bike for a couple weeks. Probably something to think about. (Also having a porch on that room would make it a lot easier to get the bike out of the house, save going through the livign room and kitchen).

Well, disassembly is complete.

All the crap specialty tools HD wants you to purchase have so far turned out to be completely unnecessary with even a modicum of problem solving skills and common sense.

So now the waiting game begins. Jugs go to the machine shop to be bored, heads go to the performance shop to be put on the flow bench, then ported and polished, then flowed again for some after numbers.

Ordered the cams from Zannotti's, so when they get here I'll reassemble the bottom end, and have it ready for the top when I get all my parts back.

And let me tell you, the cams aren't voodoo either. These are some easy machines to work on. Very very simple. I'm impressed.

Not me clay. I don't have feelings or patience.
Unless I am shown some dollar bills.
Then I will guarantee I have more patience than the victim does bux.
Compassion, Ido have a little left,
and it is reserved for four legged or winged beasts.

I meant just in general intoday's world.

Someone sent this to me today in an email:

Political Correctness

Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical liberal minority,
and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media,
which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible
to pick up a turd by the clean end!

Thanx for the posting psyk.

I'm trying to hold out for the gear drive cams to become available
before I tear into my motor.

Gotta lotta busy ness going on now anyway.

I've got takeoff heads and jugs on the shelf now,
so I won't have extended downtime, when the timing is right.

Nice of you to take the time to start posting on your project.
Hope you followup all the way thru.

Very interesting so far.
