I've been riding all winter in a cheap full face and thinking about upgrading to the new Bell Star Carbon. A bit pricy, but looks like a pretty awesome full face.

For value the Bell Vortex is hard to beat to me. Depending on graphics you can pick some up for 90 bucks. That said, I wouldn't trade my Arai Vector 2 for any other full face. My son usually wears the Bell now.

I run the Bell RS-1. Had an HJC, P.O.S. compared to the Bell.

my friend just survived a ski-doo vs truck collision where he broke his neck and lost his leg. He told me a few months ago he felt stupid buying a $400 helmet but now sitting in the hospital hes glad he did. he knows from the impact he took a good one to the head and believes he likely would have been dead for not that helmet....

I just bought a $400 simpson and I dont feel stupid doing so

From experience, I had the Bell Star Carbon. It was very comfortable, and had great ventilation, but the wind noise was a bit much. I picked up a Schuberth C3 helmet which is quieter and comfortable also and I like the pinlock visor for anti-fog. The only time I really wear it is on wet/ rainy days.

I sold my Bell Star Carbon and bought the RS-1. To me it is quieter than the Star, just as comfortable, ventilates just as well, if not better, and uses the transitions face shield that I had for my Star. That is the main helmet I wear now. I did pick up an Outlaw half helmet with Marine Corps graphics that I wear when the weather is not too cold and I'm not jumping on the turnpike or major highways for long periods.

I would definitely suggest the RS-1 over the Bell Star. Cheaper, quieter and just as comfortable to wear.

Thanks, Sgt! You just saved me a few hundred $'s. I just checked out the RS-1 and I think that's what I'll be getting. Sounds like a great helmet.
