So, I'm in the process of installing 204 cams on the sled. I am also upgrading to the full V&H Straightshot system from the slip-ons.
This was all started when I was at the dealer asking about the costs of a tune and he started talking about cams and such. Well, soon after I got the dealer to give me 20% off on parts so I thought, what the hell, I'll do some cams. As far as the exhaust I figured I'll have the full system off anyway and with the 20%, why not upgrade to the full system.
I guess my question is this; Once I get the cams in and the exhaust on and the rest of the bike back together, can I just ride it up for the tune or do I have to truck it? (Assuming it even starts...lol)
By the way, the Tigers just took a one and a half game lead in the AL Central with a sweep of the White Sox...YESSSSSSSSS!

204 cams have 8° of timing built in. You need this adjusted for. Make sure you have a tuner that can adjust timing as well as fuel and make sure that the guy doing the tuning understands this. I wouldn't ride it until that's sorted.
Ok, I have no idea what that means but I guess I'll be trucking it up to the tuner (the dealer as of now). I would hope they would know how to tune the bike.
I am not trying to be a sarcastic ***, but why not call the guy doing your tuning? I assume they would have a pretty good idea about how far off the stock tune would be.
Doesn't the SERT software include some canned maps with a configuration close to what you have, including the SE204 cams? Should be good enough to get you to a tuner, assuming that's not a long ways away.

Yup, it does but he would need the optional software and leads to put them on the bike.
I could buy the software and such. I know NOTHING about tuning and all that but I could learn quickly I guess...
Would I use this software in the future?
How easy is it to install the canned map?
