Iv got an Suomy Apex. It replaced the R1 their race helmet. Its very light vents excellent, on the down side. Its noisy as hell, but a lot less noisy than a half helmet with no ear protection. Here it is compared to my ICON....
I know this been beaten down but I did look and looking for full face helmet I come up with all kinds fo post? I want to check out the full face helmets and intrested in any comment on which FF does not look too big or is too heavy? I guess I will go to a Honda shop and try something on and get a comparison since I will be paying for tis thru the nose.
What/Where did you get your FF helmet and is it light enough for you not to wear down your neck? Myu HD helmet makes me look like I hve a 1/2 melon head haha. Thanks.
BTW I am definitely going to find a store to try on first as it is hard to buy from an online dealer sight unseen. But then good deals can be had online too!
Thanks for all of the tips. There are two stores within 30 miles from my house and I am going to go there after work one day. One is in Leesburg and the other Woodbridge. I will asupport my local shops but these shops cater to the metric crowd which is ok with me as a helmet is a helmet w/o HONDA stamped on it lol. But I feel I got to try on the helmet I buy etc.
Surprised that someone stated modular helmets are not DOT approved? I am going to get the full face helmet and maybe later on get the half Outlaw low profile when they catch up with their stock. And I know a good helmet fit is important otherwise I would never wear it etc. I just need to find something that has some venting as I sweat easily.
So far I have been pleased with my Nolan 43 Trilogy. It has the chin bar essentially making it a full face, but can be removed to make it 3/4. If that's still too warm, the visor comes off and has side covers making it an open face. It also has a flip down sun visor, and had the ability to use their N-com system (I haven't yet, but it's on the wish list). Picked it up on Dennis Kirk for $150 on clearance. I've always had a great experience with them.
I ordered a Bell Arrow from Revzilla. It gets great reviews and doesn't break the bank. It will be here tomorrow. I am tired of coming back from a long ride and having my ears bugging me from the wind noise, and don't like putting ear plugs in, so a full face is the easiest route to solve those problems.

I'd actually recommend you wear ear plugs with a full-face as well. Wind noise is still very loud and can echo inside the helmet. JMO.
If you have significant wind noise in the full face, you have a crappy helmet. The higher end ones have seals around the shield and skirts that go around your neck and keep it quiet. My old HJC C14 (or something, they don't make it anymore) Snell helmet is very quiet, as long as you're facing forward. I'm saving my pennies for the Scorpion 900 Transformer helmet. Fits me well, modular, and you can remove the whole front if you want to use it as a 3/4, which is convenient on group rides. $269 isn't too bad either. DOT/ESE certified, no Snell of course.
