5'9 and mids are the only way for me.

Mine are size 14 and I'm dragging them all the time. I've actually gotten to the point where I unconciously point my toes down a bit so I scrape the pegs before my heals. LOL

For me it's always been about what feels best for me. I'd feel like I would have more control with mids but am more comfortable with forwards. Whenever I've been on a bike with mids...or even floorboards...I feel like I could rest my chin on my knees and I'm only 6'1".

I always dragged my heels with the forwards. Size 13. Regardless of that, and my height, mids are way better for handling. I don't find them painful at all, and I'm still recovering from knee surgery. I just think some guys like the style or the easy going nature of the forwards. Your definitely not riding aggressive if you have forwards. You might think you are, but your not.

Sure you can. And then when you discover what a lean angle is, you'll understand that it was never really aggressive at all. If a peg, foot or other is limiting your lean angle, you will never be reaching the handling potential of your bike. Just because it feels aggressive, someone without that interference can overtake you without being aggressive. Forwards are not designed for handling.

I have the same problem (6'5" HERE) on my Deuce....I'm still up in the air about the 3" forward control extension...I'm afraid it will put them too far out and I will have trouble weighting my pegs in corners, but I want to be able to stretch out more in the highway....

I rode my friend's bike for about an hour with the forwards (fatbob). Maybe I just wasn't use to it, but I really didn't like it. I feel like I'm a lot more in-control with the mid's. I'll admit forwards look cooler though.

As said in another post, I think it depends where you do most of your riding. Forwards for chillers and mids for thrillers.

A lot depends on the skill level of the rider. All things being equal = rider & bike, the one with the mids is going to spank the one with the forward controls. But that's not why people prefer forward controls, to race around corners. It's a look, a feel that makes them popular. Once I get in motion, I move my feet from the mids to the highway pegs and get the same look and feel of the forwards. I've gotten pretty good at lifting my left foot off the highway peg, reaching back and snatching another gear. If I ever get that bar hopper Sportster added to the stable, it will have forward controls. But my Dyna is good to go with the mids/highway pegs.
