Default Mids vs Forwards..

So I put highway pegs on my 2005 super glide last night.. 1st thoughts are wow.. that's different.. I think I should have just went with the forward controls now.. I use the bike as a daily driver and my commute is 45 mins with 3 stoplights when I finally get into town. The wife went for a ride with me and her comment was that the bike feels like it wobbles a bit more, I told her it was from me looking at my feet and seeing where they are.. lol

This gets brought up a lot around here. I've had both set ups. I prefer mids with the highways. It gives you more options to put you feet on. On the curves it's nice to be on the mids. I can also still shift gears with the heel of my boot while on the highways.

It all depends on your riding style, I got forward controls because I'm 6'3", and riding with middies for one week was BAD enough. If you're 6' or shorter I would suggest the mids with hwy-pegs, you get the ability to ride outstreched when needed but retain you're cornering ability. My chunky butt can shift the weight of my beast with forward controls just fine cause I'm 300lbs. I myself like it better because I feel my heels drag before my pegs and that gives me and idea of how to react in a corner but as with EVERYTHING in life, to each his own.

I have highway pegs on my 2005 super glide, all my life I have rear controls, or mid controls on my bikes. I just do not like forward control. Seems I had less control, maybe that’s just me.

Im 6' 1" and i knew from the second I bought my bike i was gonna put forward controls on. There was no way mid's would have worked, I'd a felt like a fat guy in a little coat.

I'm 6 ft I have mids with a mustache bar. The mids r ok when it's just me but I hate them when my wife is on the back.. I will be upgrading to forwards in the future

I'm 5'10, switched to forwards less than a week after buying my street bob. Never looked back!

I voted extended forwards that's what I've ran on both of my bikes.

I feel more in control/balanced out with the mids section , i have mini floor boards instead of pegs i like my feet planted down they are excellent in the twisties or any smooth road for that matter ......
