Hey guys...looking for some advice from any of you guys that have apes on a Fat Bob. I will be installing a set of 14" Santee apes with 1.5" risers on my 08 FXDF. I am looking to really get the cable length dialed in before hand since cables are so expensive. I learned the hard way on a past project that exact cable length goes a long way in making the bars look just right.
Hopefully I can benifit from someone elses mistake or success on their installation on a Fat Bob.
I am thinking of ordering +6 on the brake line and +10 on the clutch and throttle cables. What do you guys think.
you are right on with the cable length. went with a bit longer and changed it back to your measurements. perfecto. in my sig pic my bars are 13's with 2 inch risers and a 14" oveer clutch cable. as you can see the longer cable sticks out like a sore thumb.
Thanks...appreciate it. I'm reading some bad stuff about the burly kit so I'm going to order those lengths from Magnum. I sent a PM to Dr. V-twin for a price. I looked on their site and was shocked by the prices....ouch!
I have one more question. Can the lower brake lines be reused or no?

yes, but the magnum kit is very nice for the lower lines.
Hi Guys, this may well need to be in a different thread but it is somewhat relevant.
I have a 2011 Fat Bob, and have just bought some nice 17 in apes, the problem i am having is sourcing the cables. Burly tell me they don't stock them and several flea bay shops don't have them either. Mainly i fear because they are more of a drop shipping outfit than a cabling or custom shop.
It is the ABS model with dual disc.
Has anyone else experienced this or am i just unlucky so far with my search.
Help!!!
Many Thanks
