Default 2006 Speedo Wiring - Mini Speedo from Digital Help

Hey guys-

First post for help but long time lurker!

I've got a 2006 Dyna Superglide Custom (FXDCI). After a summer of "re-creating" my bike I'm close to being done but am baffled re: the speedometer. I've searched the forums and ran across some wiring diagrams and such but nothing exact for what I'm hoping to do.

The former owner put on a Dakota digital piece that I didn't want nor did it fit the new bars. I decided to go with a mini speedo that would mount below the bars and be hidden (pic attached).

I ordered this mini from Demon's : Mini-Speedo It has 5 wires. I thought it would be simple... however, coming off the bike is 12 wires with 3 different harnesses (ones for the Dakota).

I tracked down a wiring schematic for the Dakota and by process of elimination determined what I thought were the correct wires needed. Wrong. I got power to the new speedo but nothing else. Also, have the manual with Speedo wiring diagrams to throw into the mix... still no help on this one.

I've determined that the speedo wiring is connected in the tranny not the front wheel.

The Demon's sites says that it'll work with Harley bikes... Attached is a screenshot of their wiring diagram. I've created flowcharts/diagrams and process of elimination trying every combo possible with no luck.

Any thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks in advance for any help!

Perhaps this wiring diagram from my database will be of any help?

Thanks! Actually used that diagram earlier. Very helpful (helped fix my rear blinker issues).

My issue seems to be determining which of the factory wires should be used with the 5 on the new speedo. The colors don't match up... Just not sure what signal is flowing on which wire and then where to connect to new speedo.

Thanks Sonnydaze-

What wire is the VSS on the stock diagram? Is that the same as the databus line?

Thanks again.
