I can tell you one thing if you want it to ride like a hard tail, feel everything in the road, and make your kidneys bleed. progressive 420 hd are the shocks for you. They suck so bad lol

My opinion, yes they are. I bought my bike with progressive 420's on it. They lasted another 50 miles or so, puked oil all over my swing arm and rim. Then fell apart. One shock is literally in pieces.

If you're going to spend the money, spend a little more and get higher quality shock.

How's this for a decent shock upgrade without breaking the bank:

Picked up a set of low milage take off air shocks from a Touring bike, added individual air valves on each shock, and picked up an air shock pump off of *bay all for just around $100.

The bike rides significantly better. The air shocks have longer travel (12.8" instead of the stock 12"), so this is not an option if you have to have the lowered look. I've got no problem with the extra lift - it may even help me to drag the exhaust less in turns.

Default Touring Shocks

If you ride aggressively look into the 944 shocks from progressive. They sit like a street glide at 12" but give you the travel of a 13" shock. If you are looking for a Cadillac style ride go with the 444 shocks from progressive. They ride very smooth and you can adjust the dampening on them and everything. If you want to go all out go with the Legends Air ride. I also do carry replacement air shocks that are 12" eye to eye like the flhx. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us!
