Default Noob exhaust question

I've been doing some reaserch on here and I can't find anything on it.
I figured I'd ask you fine Gentlemen and/or ladies...

I just put on my V&H Dyna Outlaw 2-1 Exhaust and this thing is running HOT AZ HECK!! LIke burning my legs hot...it gets to the point that I have to turn off my bike at stop lights because of the heat...

Is anyone else who has this exhaust having the same issue??
If I wrap the Exhaust will it help or make it worse??

I love the Sound and performance gains...but this is ridiculous...

Is this normal or am I just being a pansy

Any info would be Greatly Appreciated...btw...My Stock Exhaust was not this hot...Does it matter that I put the O2 sensors?

Is ur bike tuned for ur exhaust? If ur running lean then that could be a reason if im not mistaken...

And does ur exhaust have any kind of coating whatsoever? I know the big radius from V&H comes with ceramic coating... If it doesnt then some heat shields or exhaust wrap would bring the heat down...

no. it's not tuned yet. and I think they are ceramic coated...I plan on wrapping them soon, but there really isn't a heat shield for them...thanks for the reply.

Same exhaust. It gets hot. I've read wrapping the header actually makes the exhaust run hotter. Tuning might help but yes this exhaust is hot as it doesn't have a heat shield. I don't notice it on mine anymore as much because I don't find myself in 80+ degrees at stop lights very often.

And 80 Degree is all we get down here!!! LMAO! I've heard both that wrapping it makes run hotter and that wrapping may reduce some heat...maybe a wrap and some sort of spray...I need to get this fixed...it's really bad!

i would think that wrapping would keep exhaust hotter in the pipe and maybe a little cooler to the touch on outside of pipe.

wrapping the pipes will make the outside of the ehader cooler, but the ehat gets trapped in the pipe and alters the metalurgical properties of the steel in the pipe often tiems makign it weaker and more prone to cracking and breaking. start wit ha proper tune for the pipe to richen the AFR then if its still hot find someone aroudn with a good mandrel pipe bender *exhaust shop* and make some decent heat shields for it. if that doesnt work then look at wrapping it. given they are ceramic coated that with a tune might make it more bareable for you though
