Default Engine start up timing

I have a 2003 Dyna wide glide with 103cu, 211 cams high 10.5 comp. carburated with manual comp release, it is tough on starter clutches, is there any way to reduce start up timing? I`ve read that there is on newer EFI models with a PC.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I would install compression releases or the lo-ratio starter set up. Timing probably won't help much with that comp ratio.

Any idea what kind of numbers you are making with that setup ?

Try pushing in your compression releases lol, but seriously it shouldn't be going through the starter clutch with compression releases.

It won`t even start with out pushing in the comp releases hot, new battery and high torque starter.

it has comp releases, I`ll look into lower ratio gear, thanks

My TC88 went through some mods and became 95cu in with the 211 cams and HC pistons.The dyno said 85hp/93torque. Just wondered what the difference would be with a 103 and the same set up...
