A friend of mine offered to sell me her used Vance & hines fuel pak for $150. I'ts about 3 years old but wasn't on her bike for long. I just bought a 2010 Fat Bob and plan on ugrading the exhast (V&H Short Shots) and air breather sometime when my budget permits. My questions are: Is this a good price that I shouldn't pass up? Have any of you had a bad experiance with the V&H fuel pak? Should I go a different direction?
I've had a fuel pak on my wide glide since the day I bought it 2 years ago. My bike runs fine and I haven't experienced any problems. Check the part numbers as state above. Sounds like a decent deal. Most of the bad reviews are becuse fuel paks aren't as tunable as some of the other brands but for a basic stage 1 they work great!
I paid 135.00 shiped for one used, works fine, you need to check the part # also to see if it is a california model they have different restrictions.look on Vance&Hines websight they have all the part #"s listed
my opinion I would not waste my time with the fuel pack there are better systems out there. you play with the numbers they give you and your only guessing at getting it right. they have no technical help to offer you, and it only manages the fuel does nothing for timing . the power commander and the vision do a lot more you can set AFR , timing, etc. and they offer technical help to guide you set it up. or fuel moto can help you with known good fuel maps.
