Just hadthe 1000 mileservice on my '07 Street Bob, and my mechanic says there is excessive vibration in the deceleration. This is my first Harley, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but he thinks it is something that is under warranty and I should return it to the dealer. Mechanic is reputable. Anyone else have the same or similar problem? If so can you advise what was causing the problem? I'd like to have somewhat of an idea before I run it in for a blind look. I have changed out the handlerbars from the mini-ape hbto the street slammer hb. Could that be the issue?
I have it at about 30mph coasting down to around 20 then it goes away. Never started searching for the problem, but I suspect the front mount needs to be aligned better per manual procedures.
Actually my whole bike is way out of alignment, you'd swear it's been crashed. Dog tracking, etc.

My wife's ride doesn't track right either, but then again I get squirely when she... ah, never mind lol.
I'd recommend taking it to the dealer Ms. Denise. If you trust your mechanic to work on your bike I'd hope that you'd trust his judgement. I'd hate for there to be something wrong that was a safety issue!
becareful, if youve done any mods and havent let the HD dealer do it. they will try very hard to tell you that you have voided the warranty. when I first rode my 07 street bob a few weeks ago. i noticed a SEVERE vibration on decel. I thought something was wrong, Now it seems to have went away, dont know if it really went away or I am just used to it now. I think all the bobs are having this viration. I have read the same problem on other web sites and it seems to be be just on the street bobs
I agree wit badassbob, mine used to do it also. Infact on my 1k service I had them look at it. They said there was nothing wrong w/it and all was normal. It seems to have gone away or I dont notice it that much. Only happens when I pull in the clutch coming off the highway or after any semi high rpm , doesnt do it at lower rpms. Its got nothing to do with your handlebars. Heck my Bob runs really rough in colder weather , under 50 degrees it hates it. Take it out over 60 degrees and its smooth as silk. Dunno why but I had to get the finicky Bob. Id definatly stick w/ a authorized Harley Dealer that can deal w/ warranty issues. The dealership will definatly try to wiggle out of any work and blame anything wrong on your mods. My dealership said they would cover any stage 1 work IF THEY installed it . Go figure , an easy way to get me for 4 hours labor...... I still havent done it yet. Good luck and be sure to take it into your harley Dealer and let them check it out - better to be safe than sorry ! Besides It wont cost you anything except your time.
