exhaust gasket

Ordered Straightshots today and was wondering if I should use the SE gaskets or the OEMs?

OEM's for sure. Unless you have a heavily modified engine and need every split second to count. ( and even then the oem's will do.)

Different exhausts require different gaskets(flat vs tapered) - call Vance & Hines to be sure.

Yup. OEM's.
I too purchased the copper colored rings but chose to use the OEM's.
I noticed when I removed the old ones that it was very clean so clean is what I wanted it to stay.
I made a tool to install without destroying the new ones.
No leaks.

I used the supplied gaskets when installing the short shots.

sometimes you have to use 2 SE on each pipe due to space.

Your V&H should come with new gaskets, which will be like the SE gaskets. Use the ones that you want.

The instruction sheet for Straightshots should say to use oem gaskets, mine did anyway. Different pipes require either SE, or oem depending on the shape of the flange on the pipe. The instructions for Bigshots for example I think say to use SE gaskets.
