Jesus...spark plugs and now dip sticks! We sure get upset about the strangest things! Hell, at least the guy tried his best and then needed a hand! Why all the strife? Now he knows and you all helped him...why else are we here if not to share knowledge!
BTW apex predator, welcome to hdforums and the Dyna area especially! Your a hit already, and I bet there is nobody here that has not scratched their head at sometime or another on something like your dipstick problem.
+1 welcome apex predator....also we like to see pics of bikes
I've learned a few things over the course of my life, one of the most valuable is: if you don't know, ask. Another one (which might be helpful for you) is: be careful when you set out to mock someone because you might wind up looking like the fool you suppose your target to be. I didn't know how to remove a dipstick; you didn't know how to act like a decent human being. Which one of us is more ignorant?
On dipsticks, you. Thats all that was intended, once again you asked if you were a moron. BTW, you don't meet the nicest people on a Harley.

You're not on a Harley, you're on the Internet. Dicks like you are a dime a dozen here, so you're not even being original, much less clever. Have fun alienating people.
Welcome to the forum. I too am a relatively new Harley owner and struggled with the dipstick removal at first. I too have found a lot of help on this forum - there are a lot of good people with good advice. But at the same time have found too many ********. Guess it goes with the territory. I used to be a member of the Honda Hawk forum and it was totally different. Remember the slogan "You meet the nicest people on a Honda"?
Nothing wrong with your question. A whole lot better than having done something unwise and ended up posting something like "Busted off my dipstick in the tube, what should I do now?"
Welcome to the forum.
