Yup. It sounds bad ***. It's loud, but Harley's should be loud. There was some decel popping with mine so I actually put the baffles back in without the glass pack. You will need to have a small piece of glass around the first part of the barrel that goes into the pipe so it stays centered while you slide it all the way back inside. Slightly louder than stock this way but the popping is gone and the torque is slightly back to normal.

Here's the thread I was talking about, good right up and the sound from this setup is pretty decent, you can play with packing to get a different sound. And it's about a $50 mod.

The popping is because of lack of back pressure. Can that be tuned out?
Does aftermarket exhaust have the same problem? Or does the aftermarket exhaust have some type of baffles?
The decel pop can be tuned out. The mod i posted does decel pop, but it still sounded good. Some people have problems with aftermarket pipe decel popping, but it depends on the tune. I just got VH Big Shots and a Power Commander V from Fuel Moto, and it only gives a little decel pop every now and then.
why does everyone try to tune out the decel pop. that is what a harley is supposed to sound like. haven't you ever heard an old bike/car going down the road before the government got involved in tuning.

What year and model do you have? The newer bikes have cat converters in the head pipes. even with my baffles removed my '13 switchback was only mildly louder. After that I cut my headpipe apart and removed the cat, even then I wasnt loven the sound. I eventually put a full system on it, now it sounds and runs like a Harkey should.
