Default Need suggestions for a fix

I'm installing 14" Wild1 Chubby Outlawz on my bike, and while pulling the wires through the bars this happened...I'm not too sure how to go about fixing this so any help would be much appreciated.

the dealer should have a new plug in stock as well as new terminals, just be careful when you crimp them on. if not, try advance, autozone, o'reillys

You can either replace/repin the plug or cut and solder. I would call the dealer and ask if they have a plug and pins in stock. If not, I would solder it...

You should be able to put the terminals back in to the housing till they snap. Pin 1 is red/orange, pin 2 is black.
If the terminals don't snap into the housing you could buy some new ones at the H-D dealer's. The p/n for the terminals is 72910-11

you pulled the plug thought the bars? that must have been a bear! as stated you can get new terminals and crimp them on, then slide them into the plug but it looks like yours is ok, just flip up the lock on there, and slide them back in

I cannot tell from the photo, but it looks like the connector contact holes and one of the contacts locking tab are messed up.

If the connector contact holes are messed up the contacts will not lock in and you will have nothing but problems down the road so the connector needs to be replaced. If the contact locking tabs are messed up, you will need to replace them as well...

DON'T use a pair of pliers to crimp the contacts...only amateurs do that and it creates a weak point in the system that is more likely than not going to fail. Spring for the correct crimp tool or find someone who has the tools and knowledge to do it right...you are working on that Harley Davidson that cost you thousands of $$$...If you are going to work on it yourself, then spend the money for the right tools to do the job. It makes things go a lot easier with less frustration...and gives peace of mind when you are riding way out in the boonies.

Good luck!

Those look like AMP connectors. If so there should be a tang inside the plug that keeps them in place. If the connector came out of the plug from the back by force. .those tangs are toast. I'd investigate new crimps, new plug. It's not hard to do with a good crimper tool, I think mine cost $20, but the key is experience with the cheaper tool. HD/Kent-moore makes a tool that takes all the guess work out but costs $300 or something ridiculous.

Can we get some better pictures and we'll walk you through it.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I got some new terminals yesterday and that didn't work so I'm gonna go see if the stealership has a new plug today, if not ill just solder it. Oh and yes pulling the plug through the bars was such a pain in the *** it definitely required a beer and smoke break.
