So I'm pulling the trigger on a 107" build for my dyna. Going to bore the stock jugs, port the heads, re work throttle body, split cases and have the crank trued and welded. My question is to avoid excessive down time while the machining takes place I was going to find a set of take off jugs and heads to machine so I can just swap when all the parts get here. I have a buddy with an 08 street glide. Will his heads work for my dyna? I think there might be a motor mount difference or something? Thanks.
Would be good to know which dyna you have I'm guessing '10 streetbob. My best advice to you is call www.fuelmotousa.com they will send you jugs pistons pushrods cams lifters and stage II heads with full set of gaskets for just over 2200$. You pay a premium and when you mail yours back they refund your deposit. If you have a good builder it can be all done in one day.
Not much can be done with your stock TB. The metal used only allows for 39mm TB opening. The screaming eagle TB is 49mm and will do nicely until you upgrade further in which case go for a HPI 55 mm TB right from the get go but it will cost you almost twice as much since HPI does not supply the bigger injectors.
Your friends heads will fit your bike should you go that route.
I thought about going that route, also considered t-man, gmr, hillside, HQ, etc etc. There are a few options out there depending on what I want to spend. I'm even considering doing 117" if I am already splitting the cases to do the crank.
if you have a 10' streetbob then your heads are the all black non highlighted ones. those are harder to find cuz they were only on the streetbob and crossbones a few years. lucky for you i have a set for sale hahha. pm me if your interested
You're exactly right. I have the all black not the highlighted black and this is a pain in the ***. Is there anyone that makes a 117" kit in all black? I've checked revperf, tman, and s&s. I really don't care for the highlighted black being I've been working hard to blacken out my bike completely. Would be going the other way with highlighted cylinders and heads.
powder coating is the easiest way.
that is what I had to do on my 05 super glide to make things match. Did the rocker boxes at the same time.
Oh, I ended up going 113, loving it.
