I have a 07 street bob with 3" screamin eagle slip ons.. The baffles that came with the slip ons made it sound allmost like stock. And when i take them out they sometimes pop a bit on decelleration.. I would like some "loud" baffles but allso add some backpressure to maintain low en torque..
What should I buy?
Someday i will buy a new exhaust system, but that is not on the budget for now..
I have an '07 StreetBob but was able to find some '06 ScreaminEagle II slip-ons. Big City Thunder makes a great baffle for that pipe. They're pretty loud, real deep, nice tone and I can feel a performance gain. You should remove one of you existing baffles and measure it so you'll know the Big City product will work. I didn't mind the tome of the stock SEII's so much, but after highway cruising, there was a steady drone that killed my head. With the BCT baffles, which are noticably louder, the sound doesn't bother me as much and this is because the sound is about 5 feet behind me. You can actually hear that the exhaust accelerates the flow.
I have the SE-II's with the BCT baffles on my 06 Lowrider and they sound great, not obnoxiously loud but with a nice rumble to it, especially on the highway.
And i think that they are 2- 7/8" inside diameter and have the screamin eagle "stamped" in them..
Are they screamin eagle II's?
These you have linked are not. The SE-II's will have SE-II stamped on the muffler (upper muffler I believe) and they are not "street legal", they are marked as "off road" type only (yeah, hahaha). I don't have my bike with me right now to check, but I do know they are stamped as such.
Forgot to add, Big City Thunder does make a baffle for the Screaming Eagle muffler called "Monster Baffle" that you can install which may give you the volume increase you are looking for. Call them to verify.
